Thrifted Thursday #1

Thanks to Labor Day, I had lots of time to thrift! I went one day with my friend Katie and one day with my mom. I bought a whole lot, that I will show you in due time. I want to do my Thrifted Thursday a little different this time. I want to just highlight 3 of the items I bought. Some of them are currently on sale, or has something similar posted.

 1. The shirt I am about to show y'all is my most expensive find to date. It is a beautiful Diane Von Furstenberg 100% silk top. I looked it up to see what it was worth and was blown away. The retail value is $368. It truly is BEAUTIFUL! Unfortunately, it is not my size, so I am selling it on Poshmark.

2. This shirt is a pretty blue and has a really relaxed fit. I plan on wearing it with leggings because I need every chance I can get to be comfortable at work. It is K-Dash by Kardashians and is currently for sale on QVC. You can buy it Here.

3. This Stella & Dot purse is in perfect condition and I love the pattern. I was really excited about that, because it's sometimes hard to find a purse in such great condition. The pattern is retired, but I did find a similar purse with a different pattern Here.

I am hoping to do some thrifting, but I will be more busy this weekend so we shall see. If I don't post before Sunday, I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Date Night

I would first like to take a moment and give the appreciation this mint necklace deserves. I have had a love affair with the color mint for many years now, and it is still going strong. It is a color that looks great in any season. I also have a love affair with statement necklaces, so naturally when I saw this necklace, it was an immediate buy. I am so glad I did, because it can really put together an outfit and gives it a great pop of color.

Now, when I look at this outfit, I think about how perfect it would be for a date night. I then think about my sweet 5 month old daughter and ask myself, "How will this work for a date night?" These days our date nights are movies with pizza at home, and our attire consists of pajamas. Although it may seem like that doesn't count as a date night, in our book it does, and I wouldn't have it any other way! With me going back to work, I just enjoy spending time with my little family any chance I get. So, I may not be wearing this on a date any time soon, but I hope it at least inspired you to pick out a special outfit and wear it for a night out with your loved one!

Green With Envy

Olive green is a tricky color for me. I see it mostly in the utility/military look. I support the Military and appreciate what they do, I just personally don't like wearing that look. I do however like how it brings out my eyes. See, it's tricky.

I paired the green pants with a sweater that I thrifted, leopard flats that are super comfortable, and lots of gold bracelets. It gave the olive green more of a girly look, and that is something I can jump on board with. I decided to look around for more olive green that could be girly. I posted some of my findings below.

If you like the utility look, than that's great and I want you to rock it out! For us girls that aren't the biggest fans of it, I hope you find ways to incorporate it more and let me know how you did it!

Seeing Spots

There are times when I am thrifting and I see a top that I like, but I can't really picture what to pair it with. This shirt was one of those times. I love Ann Taylor, so I instantly fell for this shirt. My only concern was I didn't know what to do with it. I like to try to think outside the box, so I paired it originally with bright, kelly green pants. I didn't like how busy it was. The pants and shirt seemed to fight for the spotlight. I then tried it with classic navy pants, and I found my match! The plain pants and shoes gave way to the shirt and magic happened. Okay, maybe not magic, but I do think it helped the shirt to be the center of attention. I chose a green necklace to help emphasize the green in the shirt, and I ended up liking the combination.

Sometimes, all a busy shirt needs is a plain pair of pants. That is just like in life, sometimes you are the center of attention like the shirt and other times you need to help someone else be. Which one are you today?

My Fancy Jean Jacket

I have an obsession with all things classic. I love ornate tea sets, the beautiful voices of Dean Martin and Adele, the perfect red lip, and clothes that are tailored. I genuinely feel that I should have been born in another time.

I have many items in my closet that are vintage or more on the classy side. My husband calls them my "old lady" clothes, I call it style. This jacket would fit in my husband's category.

I went thrifting recently and when I found this jacket, I got those old, familiar butterflies of excitement. When I saw it was a size that fits, I squealed. I just fell in love. I hope I am not the only one out there that squeals and gets butterflies for clothing. As I was thinking of what to put it with, so many options came to mind. It was really hard to pick just one. That is why I believe everyone should have a jean jacket in their closet; may it be fancy or simple, they are so versatile and useful! If you don't own one, go buy one right now!

Summer is Sailing Away

August marks the end of summer in my book. September means pumpkin flavored everything, and that means I will break out my brown boots and leggings. In honor of that, I decided something super bright is in order.

I found this skirt while thrifting about a month ago and I fell in love. I am a sucker for pleats and cobalt blue is such a beautiful, rich color; I couldn't pass it up! I decided to pair it with a striped shirt to give it a nautical look to emphasize the summer feel. However, I can guarantee this will not be the last time you will see this skirt. I already have tons of ideas to use it in the winter. I hope you enjoy your "last" week of summer!

Upscaling your Average Tee

Tee shirts are a dime a dozen in a thrift store. Thankfully, there are many ways to utilize them. I put this together to show that you can use your tee in a workplace. It's possible to be comfortable and professional, which is a daily goal of mine!
